Buena Vista Social Club 2015 EU RE 2xLP 180g Gatefold Shrink Hype Booklet EX/NM.

For auction is an excellent listeners copy of the self-titled debut by the Cuban jazz band. Originally released in September 1997, it was a commercial and critical success. It prompted a short concert tour of Amsterdam and a show at Carnegie Hall in New York City. These performances plus recording sessions in Havana were the subject of a 1999 documentary of the same name which was nominated for an Academy Award for best documentary. Commercially the album charted internationally peaking at #44 in the UK and #80 in the US on the Billboard 200. However, in the US, it reached #1 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums, Tropical Albums and World Album charts. Critically the album has been revered and has received many accolades. It won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album. In 2003 it was ranked #260 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In 2022, the record was selected by the Library of Congress to be preserved in the National Recording Registry for its cultural significance. It has also been included in the book, 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Buena Vista Social Club has been certified platinum in the US with close to 2 million copies sold. It has sold 8 million copies globally with 3 million alone in Europe. This copy is a 2015 European import reissue on 180 gram vinyl. It comes with a 20 page booklet and a download card.

Vinyl is play graded EX. Both discs have no obvious visible surface marks. They play with faint background noise if any and has no skips or jumps. Please see pics.

Gatefold cover is in NM condition. In shrink with hype sticker there is no shelf wear except the shrink being opened. Looks brand new! Please see pics.
