Buffalo Springfield - 1st pressing UK Mono - Misprinted track list
Here we have a very rare and sought after 1st press UK mono copy of Buffalo Springfield's Début self titled album from 1967.
This pressing is amazingly rare as it has some serious misprints on the sleeve and the vinyl.
This album has been stored with my collection and is seldom played so it might as well go to someone who will enjoy it.
This version of US Cat# '33-200-A' (UK PRESSING) and has 4 misprint errors to what is actually pressed. This pressing does NOT have 'FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH' as a track and is NOT replaced with 'BABY DON'T SCOLD ME' like most other pressings.
Very rare to find this copy in this superb condition. Great for your collection.
Here are the track listing errors to what is pressed:-
Side one - Track 1 on the sleeve and vinyl reads, 'FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH' but plays 'GO AND SAY GOODBYE' Track 2 on the sleeve and vinyl reads, 'GO AND SAY GOODBYE' but plays 'SIT DOWN I THINK I LOVE YOU' Track 3 on the sleeve and vinyl reads, 'SIT DOWN I THINK I LOVE YOU' but plays 'LEAVE' From track 4 onwards both sleeve and vinyl match.
Side two:- All tracks on side two both sleeve and vinyl match apart from:- Track 4 on the sleeve and vinyl reads, 'LEAVE' but plays 'BABY DON'T SCOLD ME'
Condition:- Sleeve: Sleeve has the 'E. J Day Patent Pending' statement. The sleeve is Excellent with only some minor creasing but nothing bad. As with lots of these copies the spine has wear but this seems to be a fault of the sleeve rather than general wear. Sleeve graded as EX- Please see pics.
Vinyl: This album has been seldom played. I have examined it under strong light and have visually graded it as EX+ / M-. It could be considered as MINT but as it may need a clean (not essentially) I have graded it conservatively as EX+ / M-. There are even no hairlines or anything as to what I can see. It really is a very nice record indeed. Label condition is also M- I can't see any spindle marks. Please see pics.
Inner sleeve: This is original naturally, a little creased but nothing to worry about as this is very common. Shows 'Made in England 057' statement.
Matrix stampers: Side 1 = A//1 Side 2 = B//1
General: The vinyl is pretty clean but could benefit from a clean I suppose. As you can see in the pics there is some dust on the surface.
Sound quality: Plays perfectly throughout. No skips, jumps or sticks and sounds superb. Very clean playback and perfect to my ears.
