Description

You are bidding on the ultra-rare, official Rhino Records release of Buffalo War Memorial Auditorium aka- 5-9-77 by the Grateful Dead. This Vinyl 5-LP Set is FACTORY SEALED and was purchased by me on Record Store Day several years ago.


This is the mind-blowing companion show to Cornell from the legendary month of May 1977. I’m sure you’re familiar with this concert if you’re reading this, which means you already know how amazing this one is. Arguably the best of ‘em all. Pretty much every track is the definitive version, opening with what is basically a Set 2 masquerading as Set 1! The jams are heady and deep, with nary a flub to be found (very rare for the Dead). These are studio worthy performances but imbued with fiery live energy… it’s literally just one peak after another all night long. I don’t know what they were doing on these nights in early May, but it was some good sh*t indeed. Must have been something in the water…maybe literally.


I have my own copy of this box set that is (along with Veneta and Cornell) the cornerstone of my Dead on wax collection. The sound on this is absolutely unreal. Huge, round, fat and warm. It slaps like only a good Betty Board can! If you know you know. It’ll steal your face and warm your heart, my friends. Again, this one you’re bidding on is a FACTORY SEALED COPY and I’m sure you’ll treasure it forever. Sorry for rambling but I just love this show and the Dead so much.
