Bunny Wailer ORIG OZ LP Protest NM ’77 Island L36435 Roots Reggae
Original OZ LP released in 1977 on Island Records. Cat: L36435.Protest may have been overshadowed by the former Wailer's classic solo debut, Blackheart Man, but shouldn't be overlooked. It's an equally compelling work for the same reasons, including creative arranging, assured production, and some of Wailer's sweetest-ever vocal performances. In some ways, his style is arguably the most distinctive, being dreamier and more meditative than the impassioned agit-prop of his old bandmates Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. The obvious drawing card for non-initiates is "Get Up, Stand Up"; it's the only Wailers song to boast three separate covers by its former vocalists. Wailer's version slows the tempo to a reggae-funk crawl, which helps to build the song's impatience with Rasta skeptics, sealed by an impassioned vocal and snappy horn charts.

Record is in Near Mint condition. Cover has some light age spots, light ring wear and a few tiny surface tears along right edge and is in VG+ condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
