Burundi Black (12" Vinyl, 1981) Barclay/Cachalot/JEM Records - Big 3 Original US Pressing. Cut Corner PROMO.
VERY rare original US pressing of Burundi Black, the hypnotic electronic tribal rhythms originally recorded in the 60s, released in 1971 and given new life in 1981 when drummer Rusty Egan, best known for his time in Rich Kids (founded by one-time Sex Pistol Glen Matlock and fronted by Midge Ure), added drums himself and got it released in 1981 through JEM Records. This is a rare cut corner US Promo on the Barclay label, distributed by JEM. This is a gorgeous copy with almost no handling wear, no rings or shelf wear. The corners and spine are sharp and crisp and the vinyl is scratch-free. It looks in need of a deep cleaning (something I can't provide), but I know it has almost never been played, as it has sat on my shelves for 40 years. The back cover has a round JEM Records "Promo - Not For Sale" sticker (see pics). You'll be pleased with this one.
NOTE: The cut corner (upper right) got washed out and blended in with the background on the main pic. But you can clearly see the cut corner by looking at the BACK cover (upper left).
