Description
This beautiful EMI UK 2 LP set of records is one of the most beautiful I have heard. Catalog # SLS-776/ASD 2336-7 has been on TAS(The Absolute Sound) best record list for over 20 years. John is the piano soloist with Daniell Revenaugh conducting The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The box set has a nice informative booklet inside describing the contents and the composer. The record is titled "Busoni Piano Concerto", and it includes Ferruccio Busoni's "Concerto for Piano, Orchestra and Male Chorus Op. 39(1904)", and also "Sarabande and Cortege, Two Studies for Doktor Faust, Op. 51(1919)". Busoni's music is beautiful, melodic and flowing. John Ogdon does a superb job with every note. You will truely enjoy it. The label on this early EMI is the small nipper colored dog version. This is the early colored nipper, andNOT the late version of the 1990's. Recorded in 1967. The vinyl is MINT on all 4 sides. The booklet is Mint-. The box is VG+ with no corner breaks, but does have some wear off the black paper on the corners. Please view my other fine records on ebay at this time.
