Buzzcocks - Spiral Scratch 7" EP - New Hormones ORG-1 - 1979 Lyntone Reissue - VG+
This was the debut record from Buzzcocks, recorded on Dec 28, 1976 and originally issued as the first release by the band's New Hormones label in January 1977.
Howard Devoto left the band to form Magazine shortly after the orignal release of Spiral Scratch. This 1979 reissue is the "Lyntone" variant, believed to be the first in a series of reissues. It features a paper picture sleeve similar to the original release but with a straight sleeve opening (not curved) and “with HOWARD DEVOTO” printed under the band name on the front cover, no label address printed on the back cover, printed paper labels (not molded plastic), and etched runnout info (as opposed to stamped). This version was not mastered by Porky. Black vinyl, no inner sleeve. Can also be identified through matrix/runout info. Please feel free to verify features of various release versions on Discogs if you have any concerns.
Overall condition is VG+. Vinyl is VG+, light scuffing. Sleeve is VG+ with some storage creasing and sticker residue.

Matrix / Runout (Run-out side B, etched): ORG 001 B1 PULSE OUT LYN 7020 - Buzzcocks were only the third British punk band to release a record (preceded by The Damned and Sex Pistols), and the first to establish their own independent record label. The self-publication of Spiral Scratch inspired countless bands to adopt a DIY approach to their music and led to the rapid rise of the late 70s indie music scene.
