The Final mix tape that we used to cut the record Mickie’s Monkey in 1967
Also a Mint copy of the Record Mickie's Monkey ( the owner of the tape would probably want a record )
This is a one of a kind item.
In this package is the tape of the final mix of the recording Mickie's Monkey . It is the tape that was used to cut the single Mickie’s Monkey in 1967.
It is not the original master tape that was used on the studio Ampex 4 track recorder. ( that was destroyed years ago )
Mickie’s Monkey was a regional hit with regular airplay. This song allowed us to establish ourselves and eventually led us to be able to record the Trip Thru Hell album.
After we were done using the final mix tape in January 1968, I mailed the tape back to myself (that is not and has not been my address (on the package ) for many years)
It was not unusual back in those days to mail tapes back to one’s self in the event you needed to document the fact that you recorded it. I guess we were unnecessarily concerned to say the least.
Well, I never needed to open the package and it has been sitting in that package unopened since January 1968.
I “vacuumed sealed” the package a number of years ago to prevent the paper from deteriorating. (I have done some goofy stuff for sure)
It would be fun to see it go to someone that really wants it.
My guess it this item would get tossed after I am gone ... as no-one would really know what it is..... But now you know.
I am also including a Mint Copy of Mickie’s Monkey. I owned this copy from the time it came out in 1967. I had to put it in a different sleeve along the way ( the paper mildews)
I don’t think the record has ever been played. But it may have. I thought that it just seems like the owner of this tape should have the record as well as the tape.
I am keeping the initial price low to give anyone interested a chance to bid and I hope it finds a "good home"

I am planning on listing a mint copy of Trip Thru Hell some time later this year for anyone interested
