Item Description An Arturo Toscanini "autographed" black wooden cabinet (with glass door bearing the "signature" near the bottom) probably sold by BMG circa 1992 to house the RCA Victor Gold Seal collection - all the commercial recordings that Toscanini made with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra and NBC Symphony. (Reportedly Sony, having acquired BMG in the interim, later released the same set expanded and with about a third of the recordings remastered.) Dimensions approx.: 386mm max. width 508mm max. height 187mm max. depth The inner magnetic catch is fixed to the inside bottom vs. inside top (presumably correctly). The outer magnetic catch was fixed to the top vs. bottom of the glass door (presumably erroneously). Whilst the door worked well enough in this state, the outer magnetic catch has been moved to the bottom so that the outer and inner magnetic components lock as designed. This involved removing the original foam pad (stuck to the glass door and over which the outer catch was positioned) replacing it on relocation of the outer catch with new felt pads. Otherwise the cabinet is in all original and excellent used condition (as photographs), showing only minor signs of previous ownership or use. Shipping costs are intended to be realistic appreciating the unpacked weight of the cabinet (circa 7kg) and with insurance net of ebay and PayPal commissions.
