THIS IS where it really started to get interesting. The bands first two albums explored the world of balls to the wall power boogie but this one takes the template slightly to the left mapping out a slighty more intelligent direction. Don't get me wrong, they haven't abandoned their prize fighting hard rocking underbelly for experimental psychedelia, far from it. With this album they've sort of come of age carving out a sound that is equal parts boogie rock but applied to songs that have real structure and depth.
The title track for instance is one helluva ride into the world of tough guy blues boogie but with a soulful undercurrent that reflects a more mature approach to proceedings. Ditto 'Token Chokin' and 'Guiltless Glider', the latter a long nine minute excercise in pure hard rock dynamics. Side two contains the Cactus staple 'Evil', a track that captures their style, flare and energy like no other in their catalogue. 'Sweet Sixteen' contains a brilliantly executed lengthy guitar solo, whilst 'Bag Drag' packs the sort of punch you'd love to find on a James Gang album but could never quite hear.
One of the best seventies hard rock bands and albums.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Cover: Only minimal signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, ring wear to top front and rear panel, no split seams and one virtually invisible small crease on rear panel. Spine is straight and uncrushed. Displays just a hint of storage wear. Grades as Ex
