CAN – Ege Bam Yasi ORIG United Artists LP / UAS 29414 (UK, Stereo, 1972)
Here’s an original of (The ) Can’s 4th album. It’s as first released in the UK with the vinyl pressed in Germany, housed in a UK made sleeve. It’s also presented with the printed die-cut inner sleeve.
The front-laminated single sleeve is solid but shows a few established edge creases to the front and one to the corner. Also one crease to the rear, some ring wear here and 2 areas of paper loss to the rear bottom left corner. Spine still ok (all text legible) and no splits to the edges. Not mint but still lies flat, is structurally sound and has no writing. VG (Very Good) condition.
The cream & beige UA labels are fine. No writing or stickers. Light spindle evidence tight around the centre hole.
The inner die-cut sleeve is in a moderately creased VG state. Some age spots and a tiny split to the bottom edge.
The solid medium to medium heavy weight vinyl is in a straight up EX (Excellent) state. Couple of light scuffs and some (very) faint sleeve rubs but NO scratches, scrapes or embedded dirt. Looks very nice. HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays just fine. A touch of light surface static in the dead areas and I heard a couple of light ticks on Vitamin C but other than these great, clear audio with NO snap, pops, distortion or lack of definition. A great listen through this seminal progressive music featuring the ORIGINAL DRUM & BASS STYLINGS OF CZUKAY & LIEBEZEIT – THE GREATEST RHYTHM SECTION OF ALL TIME!!

I do not use any more than ONE plus or minus between grades. After all, WHAT ON EARTH DOES VG+++++ MEAN? What is NM+? Or EX---? These are just some of the ridiculous gradings I’ve encountered on eBay. I am very careful using the EX (Excellent) grade. Excellent, by dictionary definition means‘extremely good’ NOT ‘marked and slightly beat up with wear’!
