CAN Future Days (United Artists UAS 29 505) RARE German 1st Pressing +Insert MINT-
RARE very first German pressing of Can`s seminal krautrock masterpiece "Future Days", on United Artists Records (August 1973).
What can I say about this record? My favourite Can record of all, if only for the simple reason that it was the first I consciously remember buying upon release. If you ever wondered what a group of musicians would sound like if they were so deeply in sync as to be indiscernible from each other, then "Future Days" is that sound: A discernibly Teutonic motorik pulse, but so discreet as to be running on autopilot. The faint background hum of the eternal now, and yet strangely, simultaneously also an echo of mankind`s shared musical past.
Or in short, wonderful beyond words.
GRADING:
EX+ COVER with light storage wear. Please see the photos for details.
- Rare original sleeve with embossed golden print.
- Two small scratches on front sleeve (in the center of the front cover, and at bottom).
- Spine and edges have a few light creases each, as shown on photos.
- Minor abrasions to spine and edges. Spine remains uncrushed and fully legible.
- Also includes original insert in MINT- condition. Track times were noted behind the song titles in pencil and very carefully rubbed out.
...and now for the really good news!
MINT- RECORD, carefully played a few times at most.
- The audio reproduction is practically perfect, with only faintest, very sporadic background crackle in between some tracks.
- A few light hairlines from sleeve removal only.
- Original German first-press United Artists labels with a single faint spindle line on each side.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "UA 29505 A 1" and "UA 29505 B 1", respectively.
- Fully certified to be an original, very first German pressing of Can`s "Future Days", as found in selected stores in August 1973.
Miss out on this RARE collector`s item at your own peril. A near-impossible find nowadays in MINT- condition!
