CANNONBALL ADDERLEY 'SOMETHIN' ELSE LP ORIGINAL BLUE NOTE BLP 1595 1958
This is a lovely copy of this rare and very collectible original Blue Note LP from 1958 complete with matrix numbers:
- Matrix / Runout (Label Side A): BN 1595-A
- Matrix / Runout (Label Side B): BN 1595-B
- Matrix / Runout (Runout Side A): BN-LP-1595-A 2
- Matrix / Runout (Runout Side B): BN-LP-1595-B + 9M
+ the 'ear' symbol in the run out grooves of both sides + Blue Note Records Inc. 47 West 63rd. NYC addresses on both sides of the inner label (see photos). I'm pretty sure this a 2nd pressing. It's certainly a very early copy in excellent condition.
The cover is in exceptional shape apart from some extremely minor corner wear, however, there is a slight warp in the heavy cardboard near the opening. This could easily be straightened out though. The spine is near perfect while the rear of the cover is also in excellent condition (see photos) although there are 2 small import stamp/price stickers (see photo). The labels are clean although the B side label is a bit smudged (see photos) and the original Blue Note inner sleeve is included.
The vinyl plays really well on both sides with only very minimal background noise. A lovely, clean sound even during the quieter parts.
I've tried to be ultra-critical in my description but in reality this is a brilliant copy of a desirable LP that's over 50 years old and still in great condition. I'd say the condition of both cover and vinyl are a very conservative VG+.
