Cannon's Jug Stompers were a fairly legendary jug band who recorded some pretty down-home stuff in Memphis between 1928-1930. That's Gus Cannon on banjo, jug and vocals, joined by Noah Lewis on harmonica, and Ashley Tompson on guitar.

Their Victor recordings were in print for only a short while, and are quite hard to find on the original Victor pressings. This one’s a pair from a session on January 30, 1928 and features “Springdale Blues” and “Big Railroad Blues.” It was only their second time recording for Victor, and it was down at the Memphis Auditorium.
