Description
This is another sale from my collectionof classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia,HMV and RCA.
UK pressing of Decca / Capitol Mono CTL7026 on Plum/Gold label of Sibelius Concerto in D Minor for Violin &Orchestra played by Camilla Wicks and the Stockholm Radio Symphony Orchestra, conductedby Sixten Ehrling.
The matrix numbers engraved on therun-out are P8175-Y-IB and P8175-Z-1A.
Grading
Would grade the record visually as VG. Undera task light there are light sleeve scratches and faint marks (not thatnoticeable in normal sunlight). It plays well on my Linn Sondek, no skips orjumps. On side 1 there is faint intermittent crackle in some places. On side 2it is crackly at the start for 2 minutes then better onwards (still light intermittentcrackle). So I would audio grade as VG. Sleeve is Good. There are no rips ortears on the sleeve but there is a lot of wear to the spine and edges (seephoto). There is ring wear and the rear sleeve is quite grubby. There is writingon top right corner – “AUG. 1954”. I have done my best to show this on the photos. There isa clear plastic inner sleeve into which I have inserted a Nagaoka Anti-Static RecordSleeve.
Note that record will be posted in acardboard record mailer. Sleeve will be in a plastic sleeve, separate from therecord and inner sleeve. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
