MAB MYSTIC WOMAN / STORY ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by THE CAPRICORN COLLEGE. Original Italian pressing on the BENTLER Label (8018), from 1972. Outstanding, psychedelic funk rock from this cult Italian prog group featuring killer acidic flute solos / delirious fuzz distortions and hammering B-boy drum breaks. The MAB MYSTIC WOMAN theme is a beautifully structured and sophisticated Library style arrangement with fabulous rhythm changes and super-tuff beats from a seriously funky drummer. Lots of wah wah / hard piano vamps / obsessive basslines / hammond organ and speaker-shaking bottom end. Great for DJs. Comped on Mo'Plen 1000 for the Irma label. This amazing theme was never included on the group's now impossible to find Orfeo 2000 Lp grail. The STORY side is also superb and again, was never included on their Kansas label Lp session. A touch more pop orientated but with infectious twists and turns... Groovy rock guitar solos / male lead vocals and scat harmony / crisp hip hop and funky drum breakdowns et al. Our full single release never comes up for sale with the original picture sleeve either. Totally destroys the inferior recording of the common Italian juke-box issue so be warned ;) We doubt you will find a better copy than this. Very rare 45!!! Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with a few hairlines / faint scuffs and a few faded old pressing marks. Light surface noises. Some soft pops / ticks (as you can hear on our soundclip). Item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. The soft card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition overall with light wear from storage. Some ring dirt marks / corner and edge wear in places. Natural age discoloration and a few dirt marks. Very rare 45!!!
