JUNIUS / CAPRICORN COLLEGE ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by THE CAPRICORN COLLEGE BRASS. Original Italian pressing on BENTLER Label (BE / NP 5060) from 1971. Debut release and desirable single from this cult Italian prog group, issued a year before their infamous Orfeo 2000 Lp and Mab, Mystic Woman 7-inch grail. Killer psychedelic orchestrations with funky buzz flute a la Barigozzi / aggressive horn section / slick guitars / B-boy drums and jazzy breaks throughout the CAPRICORN COLLEGE side. Big club tune for DJs with booming production sound ;) Comped on Mo'Plen 1000 for the Irma label. The JUNIUS side is also superb and possibly even better... More moody and groovy with acid flute solos / hard piano and funky horn stabs galore. Both themes sound like film music from a sleazy Poliziotteschi / euro blaxploitation / Italian cop thriller. Top double-sider from the Italian underground. Outstanding, pop art inspired sleeve artwork too. We doubt you'll find a better copy than this :) Rare 45!!! Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall regardless of a few hairlines / faint scuffs and some faded old pressing marks. Light surface noises. Some soft pops / ticks (as you can hear on our soundclip). Item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. The soft card picture sleeve is closer to M- condition overall with some creasing from storage. A touch of ring wear / ring dirt marks / corner and edge wear. Rare 45!!!
