Description
Captain Beefheart And His Magic Band "Safe As Milk" (Buddah Records) BDS 5001 Original (Was Still-Sealed Until I opened it today to check it's status as a White Label Promo) It is an Original Red Label with Black Print/Unplayed totally mint Original(Stereo) Original Copy from (1967) with the Original Rare Sticker that says SAFE AS MILK,Also Sticker has under the back reverse Cover Shrink an incredible baby's-face,which I can only presume is what Don Van Vliet refers to on the inner-sleeve where it sports the original inner-sleeve that states: "May The Baby Jesus Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Mind. Record is Sealed Copy that was stone-mint,Unplayed Stereo Copy, These hardly ever show-up and since I have never ever seen a White Label Promo that was a Stereo Copy I had foolishly opened the lp today to check on it's status of being an original White Label Promo Copy, since last year out of the same collection we discovered that we had another copy,a Mono Original White Label Promo Copy with the Original Bumper Sticker that said: SAFE AS MILK,that copy's Bumper Sticker DID NOT have the Baby's face on the sticker and we sold that copy for over $300...We are starting this copy at $300 as these hardly rarely ever appear especially in still-sealed unplayed condition, this one has never been totally taken out of it's inner-sleeve and it's stone-mint unplayed with no spindle wear or any scratches at all whatsoever,it's the nicest copy that I have ever seen of this exceptionally rare and hard to find lp...I have been dealing with albums and 45's since 1977 and the old daze of Trouser Press,Trouser Press Collector's Zine,Goldmine,my own indie Private Auction Lists and I have never ever had a Still-Sealed/Unopened with the Original Bumper-Sticker,stone-mint,immaculate copy of this incredible 1st lp by Captain Beefheart And His Magic Band. Most of the copies that I had that were original and Mint had been long missing the inner bumper-sticker.This copy was scored out of the incredible collection of the original owner of the Mandrake Bookshop circa 1967-1968 here in San Rafael,CA...He has incredibly eclectic and wonderful taste for his 79 years of extreme youth and vitality,he never ceases to amaze me with the amount of rare jewels that he has scored for himself over the years, here in Marin County,CA...Minimum-Bid starts at $300 for this incredible jewel copy, though I have had two still-sealed Original Straight copies of "Trout Mask Replica" and one Original Still-Sealed copy of "Lick My Decals Off Baby" (my personal favorite lp by Capt. Beefheart),this copy has never arrived in my fair and honest hands, unfortunately and probably,most-likely never ever will.It is extremely rare and long out of print since about 1968-1969... LP Includes : Ry Cooder,Produced By Bob Krasnow and Richard Perry,Tracks Include: Zig Zag Wanderer Sure'Nuff'N Yes,I Do Electricity Grown So Ugly Yellow Brick Road I'm Glad Where There's Woman Plastic Factory Autumn's Child Call On Me Abba Zaba Dropout Boogie Minimum-Bid starts at $300 E-Mail us for various postage rates and worldwide payment options,we do not accept any cash in the mail as we have had a problem with theft of cash and lost regsistered mail that was misdelivered and/or stolen by the U.S. P.S.
