You are bidding on a bundle of Rare, Banned or Withdrawn LP's.
-Mom's Apple Pie was released in 1972 and was "instantly" banned because of the depiction of female genitalia "strategically" placed in the Apple Pie on the cover.
-Captain Beyond was released in 1972 and this is the "original" American release with the 3-D (lenticuler) image on the front cover. Members were from Deep Purple, Johnny Winter, Iron Butterfly and Rick Derringer groups. It is dedicated to the memory of Duane Allman on the back cover. There is a "VERY LARGE" group of 70's rock enthusiasts that swear this is THEE BEST HARD ROCK ALBUM OF THE 70's....PERIOD!!!
-Lynyrd Skynyrd "Street Survivors" was released October 17, 1977. Just three days later the bands plane ran out of gas and crashed in a forest in McComb, Mississippi killing Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines and assistant road manager Dean Kirlpatrick. The pilot and co-pilot were also killed. Out of respect for the deceased (at the request of Teresa Gaines, Steve's widow) MCA Records withdrew the original cover and replaced it with a similar image of the band against a simple black background, which is on the back cover of this album.
The Lynyrd Skynyrd cover is in perfect condition; front, back and inside (gatefold). The LP has "never" been played. The Captain Beyond cover shows some discoloration (due to age); but no other issues. Mom's Apple Pie cover has some wear showing on the front, back and edges.
All LP's have been stored in plastic sleeves and records stored in non-static plastic liners.
These are "only" sold as a group.
