The electro-rock phenomenon in hip-hop was a fleeting but extraordinary moment in which the faster tempos of the dance community met with the sound and fury of hip-hop. While most recordings that were popular then and have survived to this date reflect the downtown approach to this music, the body of work that comprises Captain Rock "To The Future Shock" is very special for its representing the uptown take on this music.
