Description
Here we have a copy of the first album by Caravan, one of the great British Progressive rock acts from the late sixties and beyond. This is the original edition on the Verve Forecast label with the highly sought-after 'pillar' sleeve design. The vinyl is a Mono pressing and the dead wax matrices read VLP 6011 A-1 AND B-1 which suggests it could well be a first pressing also. The spine is black and clearly legible with the single word CARAVAN in white; the front cover is clean and bears only a few minor wrinkles in the laminate, whereas the back cover is a beautiful example of the triple flipback design, and all by Garrod and Lofthouse to boot. The inner bag, for no apparent reason, is an old CBS one. Never mind, eh. The last track on side A is titled Cecil Rons according to the cover and label, but my other copy which is a reissue has it as Cecil Runs, which I think is the way it should be. I'll post Worldwide and would recommend that you have it sent signed for, purely for safety and guarding against loss. A truly great album of British Psychedelia that doesn't pale into mawkish sentimentality even after forty-three years. Where but for Caravan would I? Come and have a look.
