Here it is, the best possible ORIGINAL pressing of the legendary Carl Holmes 'Sherlock Investigation' Lp from CRS Records. It was found recently in a batch of 1968-'76 progressive rock and jazz Lps that had been in storage for nearly 20 years. I guess the previous owner wasn't a fan because HE NEVER OPENED THE RECORD That's right, it's still sealed!

Carl 'Sherlock' Holmes, formerly of Philadelphia's Carl Holmes & the Commanders, cut some soul 45's for Atlantic, Parkway and Blackjack in the early to mid-60's, followed by the 'Investigation No. 1' LP, which has Holmes' fuzz guitar right out in front.

This early-'70s album is pretty much split into two parts, some cool harmony-laden Philly Soul and driving funk with occasional jazzy and/or Latin touches.

You'll dig the killer drum break on "Black Bag" and wonder at the loose, funky groove that wanders in and out of the 'original' songs on this album. Long considered a classic rare soul Lp it was ultimately re-issued last year. Don't confuse that with this ORIGINAL PRESSING And for those who will no doubt write and ask how I know it's an original pressing I'll say 'cause I've been selling records for 30 years and know an original when I see one. After all, I remember the original issue.... Anyway, one look at the aged shrink on this and you'll know instantly that it is what it is.... remarkable ! Be the first to pop its cherry!
