For his third non-Santana album, Carlos Santana performed the works of John Coltrane with Coltrane's widow, Alice Coltrane.
Side One includes several contemplative, string-filled numbers, while Side Two presents Santana's re-creation of John Coltrane's late free-jazz style in "Angel of Sunlight."
Columbia Records could not have been pleased at Santana's determined drift into esoteric jazz: Illuminations was the first of the nine Santana-related albums so far released not to go gold

LABELS: MINT
A pristine set of labels with no spindle traces or any sign the record has ever been played
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces shine like-new and even under bright light only wispy hairline can be seen
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Plays as-new throughout - an odd one-off tick noted - nothing really and a lot of this record s very quiet and delicate.
I must also must stress I did not clean this copy as it looks so immaculate so any ticks will no doubt disappear after a clean/few spins.
Great copy which is, in my opinion, as good as it gets
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+
The cover is crisp, clean and sharp with all spine text clear and bold.
There is some old tape reside used to protect the opening edges but this is long gone and left nothing but a mark on the inner edges of the cover
INSERT: EXCELLENT+
Only light signs of handling, clean and unmarked with no creases
