CARMELL JONES – BUSINESS MEETIN’ – PACIFIC JAZZ PJ 53 – WITH HAROLD LAND - NM - MONO
There are two sessions on this LP. The first was late 1961, early 1962 featuring Carmell Jones on trumpet, Harold Land on tenor, Frank Strazzeri on piano, Gary Peacock on bass and Donald Dean on drums. Their selections are: THAT’S GOOD; SUEARL; HIP TROLLEY and BEAUTIFUL LOVE. The second session was in early 1962 with Jones on trumpet, Bud Shank and Clifford Scott (as Joe Splank) on alto, Wilbur Brown and Harold Land on tenor, Don Raffell on baritone, Frank Strazzeri on piano, Leroy Vinnegar on bass, Ron Jefferson on drums and Gerald Wilson as arranger. Their selections are: BUSINESS MEETIN’; STELLA BY STARLIGHT; TODDLER and CHEROKEE. This is a Mono recording
I have rated this LP as NM (Near Mint) due to the following reasons. Both sides of the vinyl are clean, with no visible marks. There is no sign of wear around the spindle holes. The LP dust jacket is in excellent condition, with the exception of a line on the cover as the lamination has slightly separated, which happens with PJ LPs. There is one very small taped seam on the top of the spine. The cover prevents it from a M- rating. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.
