Up for auction is a copy of Carmina Burana featuring the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and chorus with the Atlanta Boys Choir conducted by Robert Shaw. The LP also includes Symphonic Metamorphosis by Paul Hindemith. The recordings feature Judith Blegen (soprano), Hakan Hagegard (baritone), and William Brown (tenor). The album was released on the Telarc Digital Label (DG 10056/57) in 1981. This is an original release not a re-issue.

The album jacket does have a few issues. There is wear showing on all the corners of the cover and there is a small split on the bottom of the right side of the gatefold. The split measures about a half of an inch in length. More seriously, there is some abrashion of the coating on the inside of the gatefold. Apparently the two sides of the gatefold got stuck together at this point and when the jacket was opened it caused some of the coating to pull away from the cover (see photos). Still, even with these defects, I would say the jacket overall is in very good shape. It is very clean & shiny, with little record wear showing through. The graphics and photos are very clear and vivid. The spine of the jacket is in excellent shape.

The inserts are in very good shape. The Telarc insert does have a crease on the bottom that affects all four pages. But it is very clean, with no writing or tears on it. The lyric libretto has a couple of slight creases on the bottom, but is also very clean with no writing, folds, or tears.

The LP's themselves are in excellent condition. They are very shiny and I do not see any scratches on any of the sides at all. If they have been played at all, they were obviously played with great care. The labels are also in excellent condition, no tears, writing, or spindle marks. There is a little dust on the records, but nothing a good record cleaner cannot handle. I will leave that up to the winning bidder.
