One of the all time greatest hits, I think beaten only by "Thriller" and the Eagles "Greatest Hits", this is THE singer-songwriter album of the 70's, and introduced the writer of such classic songs as "Up On The Roof", "The Locomotion", "One Fine Day", and "I'm Into Something Good", all phenomenally popular songs written with her partner / husband Gerry Goffin, all hits for other people. After their divorce, King moved to the west coast and put out one album, "Writer", which really didn't hit the charts. Then came "Tapestry" with its spectacular list of original songs: "It's Too Late", "So Far Away", "You've Got A Friend", and remakes of her hits for Aretha Franklin ("You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman"), and The Shirelles ("Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow"). Over 25 million copies sold, and here's a super original (OG) copy. The gatefold TEXTURED cover is just short of Excellent, with a slight tear on the front, some bumped edges, and a little edge wear, BUT, its got a great legible spine and NO SPLITTING! The vinyl is just awesome, so much color, clean and shiny, with so little signs of play IM CHANGING IT TO EXCELLENT!
