SETTLE IN FOR A LONG RUN OF COLLECTABLE LPs OF VARIOUS MUSICAL STYLES!! This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1962 U.S. PRESS COLUMBIA RECORDS 6-EYE LABEL MONO PROMO COPY WITH FACTORY STICKER of the 1962 self-titled debut LP from Texas folkie Carolyn Hester, with Bob Dylan playing harmonica on three tracks prior to his own signing with Columbia. It is Columbia Records catalog number CL 1796, 6-eye label promo with a silver inscription to that effect on the record labels, a red rubber stamp to that effect on the back cover, and a factory 'New Star On Columbia Records' sticker on the front cover as shown in my accompanying image. Personnel: Carolyn Hester-guitar & vocals / Bruce Langhorne-guitar & violin / Bob Dylan-harmonica (3 tracks) / Bill Lee-bass. Tracks: I'll Fly Away, When Jesus Lived In Galilee, Los Biblicos, Yarrow, Dink's Song, Swing And Turn Jubilee, Once I Had A Sweetheart, Come Back Baby, Dear Companion, Galway Shawl, Pobre De Mi, Virgin Mary. Visual condition of record is a mid VG+ with some surface and sleeve marks which cannot be felt and do not affect play. Condition of cover is a high VG/low VG+ with a 3" split in the right side of the top edge and 3" and 2" splits in the bottom edge (I have carefully and neatly repaired these splits by taping from the inside), a little writing in red ballpoint on the front cover, a couple of slight bends and wrinkles, a few small and light stains on the back cover, some contact wear, and some general wear along the edges and on the corners. Cover has no tears or stickers besides the aforementioned factory sticker. This historic LP would be a choice addition to any Bob Dylan-related or 1960s folk music record collection!
