CATAPILLA - 1971 self titled white label promo! RARE PROGRESSIVE RELIC amazing condition overall, please read on below:
This is an absolute rarity, pulled from a collection I recently purchased. The collection owner was a record reviewer for newspapers in southern California starting in the 1950's and went on from there.  He was regularly sent records for review, this was one of those.  I don't believe it has been played more than several times as he would play a record once and then file it into his collection, as far as I know, I was the second to play this record and have done so carefully only once... this is a first pressing, white label promo.

Vinyl:  strong VG++ to NM- (9 or better out of 10)
This is a conservative grade. The record has been cleaned on my VPI machine and handled with care. To provide the best description possible, detailed text, numerous pictures and often audio clips are used to fully describe the record for sale.
Beautiful shine to the vinyl!  Fantastic sounding record overall with some light background noise during quiet passages. No marks to note, only light sleeve scuffs as shown in the pictures. Labels are beautiful as shown. Matrix numbers show in the pictures.
Please judge the playback for yourself at the clips below.  For playback, I use a DUAL 731Q direct drive with an Ortofon 5E cartridge/stylus setup.

Cover / Sleeve:  
The cover is in VG++ condition. NO splits sans a very small ding/chip at the bottom corner on bottom edge - as shown in the pictures. Print looks excellent. Corners have some light rubbing. A couple corners are bumped slightly. There are some small instances of chips but overall the cover is very clean. The inner gatefold looks excellent.  Back cover is clean as well. Some light evidence of handling but in general this is an excellent copy though not an absolute top specimen, definitely beautiful and still in fantastic shape.
Inner sleeve is plain with a window and has some chips near the corner on one side.  This completes the package.  An additional inner sleeve, a poly sleeve, will protect the record during transit.
The record and inner sleeve will ship outside the cover, all riding inside a clear outer sleeve, then everything is packed and padded as all my records ship. Please see my feedback to rest assured I take pride in my shipping practices.
Please inspect the pictures well for something I may have missed mentioning. I've enjoyed the record while I've owned it, its time to let it go to make room for more acquisitions. I try to be conservative when grading, I hope my description was sufficient.

All records are packaged with care and shipped outside their sleeves and covers, encased in bubble wrap, padded with cardboard when necessary, boxed in record boxes and taped well. SS = Still Sealed
any defects will be listed and/or photographed to complete the description

NM- = Near Mint Minus
just short of perfect - acceptable defects would include a hairline mark not detectable to the touch and not affecting playback, background noise is nearly silent

VG++ = Very Good Plus Plus
most records I will list fall under this grade, just short of NM- but may have a mark or contact wear to the label to grade it slightly lower, maybe a drill hole or saw cut, maybe a mark or name written on the label lightly, sound is still great, loud and near perfect, cover may have slight edge or corner wear, maybe slight ring wear

VG+ = Very Good Plus
 a great record, sound is high quality though may have a few pops or clicks, overall very nice looking vinyl possibly with light marks & scuffs, labels may have a name or mark on them, possible light contact wear to the label, covers may have a small split but not large or gaping, edge wear on cover may show more than slight, may be a mark on cover

VG = Very Good
only records I will list with this grade would be rather rare or of higher book value, meant to sell as a filler until a better record comes along, vinyl may have feel-able marks but should play through without skipping, pops or clicks may be louder than usual, may have marks or wear on the label, cover may have open splits, wear on print, may have marks or other very apparent defects (all will be stated in description either by type or in the pictures)
