RARE original “ffrr” London Records, very first Mono press released in Chile in 1966, licensed from London Records Inc., USA, with maroon/silver London Records labels, made and distributed by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), catalog number LLC-38444, with machine etched matrix numbers LPD-010390 D Lt-B 1A in Side A and K-LPD-010391-I D Lt-B 1A in Side B. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!! AND WHAT A SUPERB CONDITION!!!

CATERINA VALENTE CANTA EN ESPAÑOL was originally released early 60’s (unknown exact year, but maybe it’s from 1960 or 1961, the years she recorded with Edmundo Ros, considering the ad for that record in back cover), but we had to wait until 1966 to see this great compilation album of 12 Latin classic songs released here in Chile, and like in most of the cases of the period we got and UNIQUE COVER!!! Yes, the cover is made of 2 single sheets of paper attached to a thin cardboard (not glued) and kept together for an outer plastic bag which’s also part of the cover. We have not seen the front cover artwork in any other record of Caterina Valente but I wouldn’t dare to say the picture sleeve is unique, it has the London Records logo at upper left corner and title only in Spanish. Back cover also has the title and tracklist only in Spanish, with other 2 London Records albums suggested to hear, Caterina Valente with Edmundo Ros and Los Machucambos. In back cover is the “Serie Estelar” (Stellar Serie) logo which’s also written in labels, with title, tracklist and all information only in Spanish.

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG+ condition both front and back cover, clear and clean, with no rips, writings or marks, no blemishes, only some age browning and very minimal wear in the edges and mouth edge. Plastic outer bag is in great VG condition, complete, but with some rips in front cover and in back cover (because original owner wasn’t so careful to open the record). Record is in great VG- or VG condition, it’s glossy and clean but with loads of scuffs and some light hairlines and scratches which don’t affect sound at all. Labels are in EX+ or NM- condition in both sides, clean and clear, with no marks, no writings, only some minimal spindle hole wear. Sound is in great VG or VG+ condition both sides with no background noise at all (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), loud and clear, but with some constant light crackles in parts, more evident in silent parts between tracks and some faint pops in the first song of Side 1, caused for a light scratch, which of clourse don’t cause any distraction from the superb sound of the album, most of songs play in EX condition!!! Overall a RARE record in GREAT condition with a GREAT LOOK and complete with the outer plastic bag, with UNIQUE COVER and with an amazing sound quality in spite of the 46 years old!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
