CAMMINA / ANNIBALE ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by CATERINA VILLALBA with ORCHESTRA JOLLY. Original Italian pressing on the CELSON label (QB 8011), from 1960. Super-obscure and still practically unknown vocal jazz discovery from Italy. Both sides are superb featuring sexy femme fatale lead vocals (sung in both English and Italian) with scat chorus / cool jazz and big-band orchestra. CAMMINA has shades of the Helen Merrill / Lilian Terry / Maria Moris cum '50s American film noir / sex kitten / female vocal singer sound. ANNIBALE is a song about a groovy cat with blasting scat vocal chorus a la Alessandroni singers / Quartetto Cetra etc. Same cult label as Chet Baker Angel Eyes Len Mercer Lp and other alternative Miles Davis / Thelonious Monk Italian pressings. Great for DJs. Top wanted item with the biggest Japanese collectors who know it. Never comes up for sale. Very rare 45. Vinyl is in strong VG++ condition with some light scuffs and hairlines. Big production sound. Light surface noises. Pen notation to one side of label. Record housed in custom Celson label picture sleeve. Archive sticker and pen notations to front and back sleeve. Very rare 45!!!
