Catherine Ribeiro + Alpes – Paix (12” LP)
The French band Catherine Ribeiro + Alpes formed in 1968. It consisted of singer Catherine Ribeiro and composer Patrice Moullet. Every record featured different members. The two used to be in the band Catherine Ribeiro + 2Bis but decided to change the name after their first record. While their style was mostly folk and psychedelic rock in their first years, they also included elements of avant-garde in their music. Catherine Ribeiro, known for her chaotic and expressive singing style, often penned their lyrics that addressed political and social issues. They disbanded in 1981.

The album is on Philips Records, 9101 037. Matrix side one: 6325 019 1 380  CIDIS (stamped). Matrix side two: 6325 019 2 380  CIDIS (stamped).
Originally released in 1972, this is a late 1970s, early 1980s reissue. French pressing. Stereo.

Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: excellent (has the odd very light superficial mark that does not affect the audio in any way, plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Vinyl side 2: excellent (has the odd very light superficial mark that does not affect the audio in any way, plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Cover (gatefold): good (some water damage, inner gatefold has surface tears where it was stuck together, some light staining on back, bit of rippling).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.  1723 (GS 9.9.3 (1723))
