Vintage audiophile LPs are getting harder and harder to find as inventories disappear. This vintage 1980 issued LP is in collector's grade NEAR MINT condition! NO splits, NO writing, NO discoloration, virtually NO wear, but does have a small drill hole at the front, bottom left corner - see pictures with this listing as they are of the actual item. Don't miss your chance at getting a superb copy for your collection.Boston is one of the best-selling albums of all time, and deservedly so. Because of the rise of disco and punk, FM rock radio seemed all but dead until the rise of acts like Boston, Tom Petty, and Bruce Springsteen. Nearly every song on Boston's debut album could still be heard on classic rock radio decades later due to the strong vocals of Brad Delp and unique guitar sound of Tom Scholz. Tom Scholz, who wrote most of the songs, was a studio wizard and used self-designed equipment such as 12-track recording devices to come up with an anthemic "arena rock" sound before the term was even coined. The sound was hard rock, but the layered melodies and harmonics reveal the work of a master craftsman. While much has been written about the sound of the album, the lyrics are often overlooked. There are songs about their rise from a bar band ("Rock and Roll Band") as well as fond remembrances of summers gone by ("More Than a Feeling"). Boston is essential for any fan of classic rock, and the album marks the re-emergence of the genre in the 1970s. - Vik Iyengar

The Jacket is in near MINT overall condition - NO seam splits, NO discoloration, but does have a small drill hole at the front, bottom, left corner (see pic).

The jacket has NO splits of any kind - it is completely solid and intact.

There is NO writing on the front or back of the jacket.

The cover has clean and sharp colors and it comes with the paper insert describing the CBS Master Sound series of LPs.

The LP is in near mint minus overall condition! The LP is in near mint minus overall condition, with no serious marks on the vinyl. The LP is super clean with perhaps a very light spider mark or two and the odd finger print and dust. This is a very nice, very rare and collectible audiophile LP item. As this is a vintage LP, some extraneous sound is inevitable and should be expected for a vintage LP. The LP retains much of the original gloss and sheen! There are NO serious spindle marks on the record labels either.
- As for any record, even brand new, sealed LPs, we always recommend a proper record cleaning before playing for best results.
A Short Note About LP GRADING -
- Mint = Only used for sealed items.
- Near Mint = Virtually flawless in every way.
- Near Mint Minus = Item has some minor imperfections, some audible.
- Excellent = Item obviously played and enjoyed with some noise.
- Very Good Plus = Many more imperfections which are noticeable and obtrusive.
