Description
PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
HIDEOUSLY RARE Howard Craft mastered original first pressing of this obscure soul jazz monster from 1972 on Westbound engineered by the legendary Rudy Van Gelder and featuring an all-star line-up including Idris Muhammad, Melvin Sparks and Houston Person among others!!! LP is G-/F+ visually but plays surprisingly well with no skips or sticking and some noticeable clicks on the last two songs on side A. Cover is a nice VG with a small 4" piece of thin transparent tape at the opening on top. The title track and Hicky Burr alone are stone classic masterclasses in funky jazz with each instrument taking turns just destroying with unmatched virtuosity. If you've never heard either track go directly to Youtube and hear your new favorite songs. You will not be disappointed. Without question one of my favorite soul jazz LPs of all time and wildly in-demand with very good reason.
I USE GOLDMINE GRADING~ MINT (SEALED) NEAR MINT: LOOKS UNPLAYED VG++: VERY VERY MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE VG+: AVERAGE SIGNS OF USE, NOTHING DEEP, SUPERFICIAL VG: STILL AN OK RECORD, NOISE BETWEEN SONGS
GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR: FILLER COPY ONLY. LOTS OF SCRATCHES
