CECIL MCBEE – Alternate Spaces (1979) India Navigation-1043 – VG/EX (cover/vinyl)


Killer spiritual jazz by the bassist who was on Strata-East Records and played on so many sessions for the label. This is an early one on India Navigation. He’s joined by Don Pullen on piano, Chico Freeman on sax and flute, Joe Gardner on trumpet, Allen Nelson on drums and Famoudou Don Moye on percussion. This has “Alternate Spaces,” “Consequence,” “Come Sunrise,” “Sorta, Kinda Blue,” and “Expression.”


This is a nice copy. The cover has light ring wear, a small cut corner at lower front right, and 4-inch seam splits in the middle of the top and bottom seams as well as seam wear. The silver label vinyl is super clean and glossy with only slight sleeve scuffs and a sticker on on side. I grade this conservatively: VG/EX (cover/record).
