THE CEDAR WALTON / HANK MOBLEY QUINTET – Breakthrough! (1972) Cobblestone-9011 – EX/M- (cover/vinyl)

An amazing group with Cedar on piano with the great Hank Mobley on tenor sax, Charles Davis on baritone & soprano sax, Sam Jones on bass and Billy Higgins on drums. The tracks are “Breakthrough,” “Sabia,” “House on Maple Street,” “Theme from Love Story,” “Summertime,” and “Early Morning Stroll.” This is a rare release and so so great.

This is a beautiful copy. The cover is crisp and tight with no wear. It has a small name written on the back cover and a cut out hole. It also has a sticker on the front cover, but this could be removed with lighter fluid as it’s on the laminated front cover (see photos). The vinyl is clean and glossy and looks unplayed. I grade this conservatively: EX/M- (cover/vinyl).
