Centipede was a 50+ free-jazz/prog orchestra assembled in 1970 by pianist Keith Tippett in order to perform his large-scale conceptual work "Septober Energy."
Made up of a core of musicians drawn from Tippett's own band and the orbit of the Soft Machine and King Crimson, and augmented by various established professional players (including solid jazz men like Alan Skidmore) and student musicians, the group produced this prog/free jazz masterpiece which sounds quite unlike anything else to come out of the progressive rock boom

All four labels are clean, unmarked and factory-fresh with no spindle traces of signs of play
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
All four surfaces retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen - a few hairlines/brush marks are visible but these have no audible significance
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
A fascinating and largely overlooked free-jazz/prog masterpiece and my play-check at volume found little to fault - it delivers exceptionally clean sound which is always a big ask for this record with its many quiet passages
SLEEVE: VERY GOOD+
Being white and untreated this sleeve was never designed to stand the test of time but saying that this one has held up remarkably well and apart from some surface damage where the original (£2.99) price sticker was removed and discolouration to the edges it's good and solid
INNER SLEEVES: NEAR MINT
Both poly-lined black inners are in perfect condition - no seam splits
