Original 7" single released on Kapitalist Records in 1977. I believe that this was the UK pressing which didn't come with a picture sleeve - it's difficult to find any info. I did find this on the collectorscum site:

"A two-sided classic of non-standard but punk aligned rock'n'roll. The sleeveless copies of Son Of Sam with raised ridges around the edge of the labels and slightly different label design were almost certainly pressed in the UK."

The Chain Gang are a punk band, contemporaries of the Ramones and the late 70’s NYC punks, although never a part of that scene. Although legendary to a few, their history and whether the group is still active remains something of an enigma.

Their original records are difficult to find information about, and almost impossible to find. However, what is certain is that their first 7" was “Son Of Sam” released in ‘77 and it received limited success in the UK.

Quite likely their only LP proper is “Mondo Manhattan” (Lost, 1987), although in 1990 Matador Records produced a retrospective compilation entitled “Perfumed”, which includes recordings from ‘76/’77 and live tracks from 1988.

We offer combined shipping on all LPs / 12" Vinyls: our shipping rates are listed above. HOWEVER shipping packages that weigh more than 2kg is VERY expensive. Therefore we can only offer combined shipping up to a maximum of SEVEN (7) LPs / 12" vinyls. Any extra purchases will be invoiced, packaged and shipped separately.

Sorry but I am no longer willing to carry combined transactions beyond two weeks of auctions (see below).

PAYMENT

I would appreciate payment within seven days of the auction’s end. If you want to bid on more of my auctions ending a week later please inform me. I will wait and issue a combined invoice at the close of the second week’s auctions.

However, I am no longer willing to carry combined transactions beyond two weeks and in these cases would appreciate payment promptly after the close of the second week’s auctions.

I am sorry to have to introduce these measures – I always try to be patient and allow buyers to bid on extra auctions and / or delay payment. Unfortunately some buyers have been stretching out transactions to unacceptable lengths so I feel I have no option but to limit ‘carried over’ transactions to two weeks.
