The record you are viewing is part of a collection acquired through a successful auction bid. The product purchased is from a deceased record store owner whose doors closed circa 1970, having made a run of it during the 60's. An incredibly large volume of LPs remained, many in new (sealed) or pristine condition and properly stored. These will comprise the bulk of offerings I will be posting on eBay. With a vast and well preserved inventory, it will take time to sift through and uncover the many hidden gems that await. My goal is to present these finds to eBay buyers in a timely and systematic manner. I am aware finds of this nature are indeed rare, but the fact is, the records I will be listing have sat undisturbed for over 40 years waiting to be rediscovered, shared and enjoyed. I hope you will find some items you've been wanting and can be part of, what I feel, is an historical find. All items kept in smoke-free, pet-free environment.
Columbia deep groove 6-Eye white label promo STEREO vinyl LP CS 8171 - released 1959
EX deep groove vinyl retains like-new shine and gloss with no play or handling marks. Has a couple of superficial sleeve markings and may have been played once prior. Play test on NAD C555 turntable revealed rich, beautiful stereo sound. I detected a few ticks on two tracks lasting no more than 3 - 4 revolutions. There was a modicum of light isolated background on one or two tracks. Overall the sound is pristine and exciting. Wonderful hearing (real) stereo like this from it's infancy. VG cover has shelf and edge wear, stub upper left corner, 1/2" tear top spine - no seam splits.
