Artist: CHARLES MINGUS and His Jazz Groups
Title: “Mingus Dynasty”
Label: COLUMBIA, Catalog number is CL-1440. Demonstration copy. Stereo pressing. Label is red “six-eye” with black text. Monaural pressing on medium thick vinyl with deep groove.
Year: 1960.
Personnel: Charles Mingus –bass; John Handy, Booker Ervin, and John Handy or Benny Golson – saxophones; Jerome Richardson – saxophone and flute; Dick Williams or Donald Ellis – trumpet; James Knepper – trombone; Roland Hanna – piano; Maurice Brown and Seymour Barab – cello; Theodore Cohen – vibes; Dannie Richmond – drums.
Condition:
DISC: Vinyl is beautiful NM with full original gloss. Flawless vinyl and labels. Fidelity is superb.
JACKET: Condition of jacket is nice VG+ to VG++. Front art work is clean and nice, shows beautifully. There is a bit of minor staining on reverse along the bottom. Seams are excellent. On the reverse there is a nick on the left edge near the top, and there is some minor darkening due to age. Reverse is stamped “Demonstration – Not For Sale.” Overall an attractive cover you will be proud to display.
