A little played and truly excellent condition copy of this US 1st press jazz gem rarity

1962 Charlie Mingus gem on cherished deep groove US RCA Victor record label : excellent plus (EX+) - some would say "near mint", I am sure - condition vinyl - thick, weighty and completely flat with earliest 1S/1S matrices and difficult to detect any blemishes at all, even with close scrutiny under a bright light. Both sides of the vinyl gleam with almost perfect retention of it's original jet black lacquered sheen. Clearly this is a record that has been little played, and just two small and extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label adds further credence to this supposition. Just beautiful! Excellent plus (EX+) condition RCA Victor labels with just a couple of small & extremely faint spindle trails next to the centre hole on each. Note the circular "deep groove" on each label - a clear indicator of very early pressings. Very good plus (VG+) - bordering on excellent - condition non-laminated thick cardboard outer sleeve, with firm edges and just some mild and occasional light scuffing on each (a little more pronounced towards the corners on the bottom edge), near perfectly defined right angled corners with just a little scuffing on each, and some very mild surface storage/handling marks on the original "paste-on' towards the edges on the reverse side (see photos). The spine remains rock solid with just a couple of small "nicks", all spine text is intact and legible, the opening edges are firm with no fraying or feathering, and all colours/art work remain vibrantly intact despite a few small and light storage abrasions on the front side (see photos). In essence, despite the condition not being perfect, the look and feel of this sleeve remains impressive, highly presentable, iconic and a definite very good plus condition grade. Excellent plus (EX+) MONO audio quality with no skips, sticks, jumps, repeats, interference, distortion or background interference/crackle. Even the dead wax run-ins and run-offs are silent...remarkable! Simply great tone with crystal clear MONO audio quality throughout with Charlie Mingus and a host of other jazz luminaries in great form. Stunning!

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
