On offer is an original Australian issue of CHARLIE MUNRO's “Count Down” album on the COLUMBIA label, featuring a JAZZ ORCHESTRA performing the title track across the whole of side 1 and a trio performing two tracks on side 2.  This LP was the follow-up to the highly regarded “Eastern Dreams” issued on the PHILIPS label in 1967.

 “Count Down” hardly ever turns up; so don’t miss the opportunity to acquire one of the RAREST AUSTRALIAN MODERN JAZZ ALBUMS ever released!

RECORD REVIEW:

This LP is possibly even better than Eastern Horizons. It’s also possibly the most progressive Jazz recording to ever come out of Australia. An album composed for a fictitious Ballet this concept piece ranges from the dare I say ‘David Axelrodesque’ to deep improv. Based around the tight quartet from Eastern Horizons it also features additional Bass player Bruce Cale and Sax man Graeme Lyall. This is really where it’s at for Australian jazz. A Masterpiece. The back cover of this sample LP has a space top left about half an inch wide by about two inches long with some colour fade. There’s also a small amount of very light ringwear on the back. The vinyl,label and front cover are fabulous.

MINT: Brand new condition, no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: Slight signs of having been played, no lessening of sound quality. Cover, label, extras are good.

VERY GOOD: played quite a few times, no real deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras slight amount of wear and tear.

GOOD: showing some wear and tear. Reasonable, playable sound. No major defects in record, cover, label, extras.
