GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : Charlo oltre che compositore è stato uno dei migliori cantanti Argentini di tango. Tutti i brani sono stati da lui composti con la valida assistenza di Anotole Pietri che ha curato gli arrangiamenti e diretto l’orchestra. Parlavo di tango che senza ombra di dubbio scorreva nelle vene di Charlo ma in questo album troviamo un solo brano basato sul ritmo della celebre musica e danza nella canzone (a6) interpretata dallo stesso compositore con una vocalità dolce e tenera. Fondamentalmente la colonna sonora si basa su due brani principali: “A Noite de Tua Asencia” (a1, a2, b3, b6) e “Un Sueño y Nada más” (a5, a6, b3). Questi due temi hanno diverse variazioni. Il primo, interpretato dal Conjunto (complesso, N.d.R.) Vanguard inizia con un bel ritmo vivace di bossa (a1) sottolineato da strumenti a fiato, percussioni e un ottimo pianoforte, subito dopo una versione in bolero latino-americano (a2) con belle sfumature blueseggianti della tromba. Poi ancora bossa (b3) da parte dei Bossa Nova 4, ma questa volta cantata e accompagnata dalla chitarra. L’ultima delle quattro versioni (b6) è una briosa samba. “Un Sueño y Nada más” si presenta in una simpatica versione twist (a5) perfettamente guidata da un’eccellente chitarra, riguardo alla canzone tango (a6) ho già accennato sopra ed infine troviamo caratteristiche sinfoniche (b3). Tra gli altri brani: “El Tiempo y Mi Tristeza” (a4) con belle sonorità quasi blues della tromba, contrabbasso in sottofondo e successiva entrata del pianoforte e “Rondando Tu Esquina” (b4) cantata e suonata dalle chitarre del trio Los Nocturnos su musicalità tipicamente sudamericane.

I titoli dei dodici brani con la loro durata possono esser letti guardando il retrocopertina raffigurato nella scansione n° 2.

Notes : Charlo in addition to a composer was one of the best Argentine tango singers. All tracks were composed by himself with the valuable assistance of Anotole Pietri who oversaw the arrangements and conducted the orchestra. I just have spoken of tango that without a doubt coursing through the veins of Charlo but in this album we find only one song based on the rhythm of the renowned music and dance in the song (a6) performed by the same composer with sweet and tender vocal style. Fundamentally the soundtrack is based on two main themes: "A Noite de Tua Asencia" (a1, a2, b3, b6) and "Un Sueño y Nada más" (a5, a6, b3). Both of these tracks have different variations. The first, played by Conjunto (ensemble, Editor’s note) Vanguard begins with a nice lively vibe of bossa (a1) underlined by wind instruments, percussion and an excellent piano, right after the version in the Latin American bolero (a2) with beautiful bluesy shades of the trumpet. Then bossa  again (b3) by the Bossa Nova 4, but this time sung and accompanied by the guitar. The last of the four versions (b6) is a peppy samba. "A Sueño y Nada más" comes in a nice twist version (a5) perfectly led by an excellent guitar. About the tango song (a6) I have already mentioned above and finally we find symphonic features (b3). Among other tracks: "El Tiempo y Mi Tristeza" (a4) with beautiful sonorities by a bluesy trumpet, double bass in the background and subsequent appearance of the piano and "Rondando Tu Esquina" (b4) sung and played by the trio of guitars Los Nocturnos from the typically South American musicality.

The titles of twelve tracks with their lenght can be read looking at the back cover depicted in the scan No. 2.
