GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Notes : truly two tunes that manage to make dance anyone because we cannot stand still listening only to their music. The credit goes to the Austrian composer Charly Niessen, to the excellent arrangements of the German Gert Wilden and to the performance of Happy Sounders, a studio group formed by very talented musicians. The common denominator of both tracks is an excellent jazz music or however from jazzy character based mainly on brass instruments. "Donald's Party" has in its rousing rhythm also some funky flavor. Here, trumpet, bass and drums give to the track a powerful dynamic impact with the concourse of other brass instruments, then a good electric guitar and organ improvisations accompanied by the percussive force of the drummer evoke in the listener an uncontrollable desire to go wild in a lively dance. "Sexy Baby", which can be heard on the web, has a more sophisticated structure. The fast funky jazz sound powered by drums, guitar and brass instruments is softened by sensual female vocalisms in perfect harmony with the film plot. There is room for an excellent sax solo, beautiful sonorities of the trumpet and an insistent drummming. Maybe the latter has a dynamic development slightly milder than the previous one and predisposes to a dance to be performed with lower vehemence. In my humble opinion, it is even more interesting and worthy of being placed among the best tunes of the up-tempo lounge music.

Un sexy film di produzione Tedesca. Regia di Helmut Förnbacher, con Gila von Weitershausen, Helmut Förnbacher, Konrad Georg, Dieter Augustin e Jane Tilden.
