Description
A Festival of Music In Tribute to the November 8th, 1890 date of death of Cesar Franck, I offer this important historic recording of Franck contemporary, Chausson's Concert for Violin, Piano and String Quartet.
A work which I have always felt could have been penned by Franck, there is a wonderful symbosis if you will... between Chausson's Concert and Franck's own Quintet for Piano and String Quartet.
Jacques THIBAUD and Alfred CORTOT perform accompanied by a Quartet composed of Isnard, Voulfman, Blangain and Eisemberg on this HMV edition DB 1649-1653 housed in a mid 30s "2 bolt" plain Victor album cover jacket. The HMV discs are in E condition overall.
*Note, the last side features Thibaud and Cortot in Faure's Berceuse.
