CHET ATKINS - GALLOPIN GUITAR

RCA LPM 3079, 1953

Chet Atkins made his first leader recording as a 78 RPM on Bullet Records, but also recorded as a sideman with various acts. He was brought to RCA by Steve Sholes in 1947. This 10" Long Play, 33 1/3 was his first as a leader. The song "Gallopin' on the Guitar" had been released as a single in 1947 and was a minor hit, often being used as a radio theme song by 1949.
