WOW!! For sale is an absolutely gorgeous 1957 Mono first pressing of Chet Baker Big Band!

Pacific Jazz pressings from the 50’s are incredibly rare to find in this condition. The sleeves are notorious for seam splitting and wear. This is a TOP COPY with only a couple of small flaws to report. Truly stunning and hard to beat. Final upgrade.

Sleeve: EX

BEAUTIFUL sleeve is close to perfect. Laminated front still shines. There is a wrinkle to the lower left hand corner which brings the grade down from what I’d otherwise call NM-. Very light wear to a couple of the other corners. There is a small patch on front as shown in photograph that looks different when tilted under light. Seams are remarkably solid, with only a couple of spots of cracking. Only the tiniest, faintest indication of a seam split wanting to start at the top opening edge. Opening edges are flat and razor crisp. Rear sleeve is brilliant white with no imperfections apart from the number 49 stamped near the catalogue number in upper right hand corner. This stamp could have been from the factory. I’m not sure at all, but it does appear old and is barely noticeable.

Disc: NM-

STUNNING glossy disc has no scratches or scuffs. Truly a remarkable example which would be hard to top. I’d call it NM but I’m adding the minus for the most discerning among us…there are a couple wispy, non-sounding superficial marks that only appear/disappear when tilted under bright light. Gorgeous.

Labels: NM

PERFECT first pressing black and silver labels. I barely see one faint spindle mark on Side One label when tilted under light and none at all on Side Two.

I package VERY carefully - no need to worry - I place the disc into a MoFi outer sleeve which goes behind the jacket to prevent splitting … all inside a plastic outer sleeve which is sandwiched snugly between two cardboard stiffeners and shipped using a proper LP mailer with extra corner protection. There will be no movement of the disc or jacket within the package, even if shaken or thrown.
