My vinyl record rating guide: vinyl / sleeve
NMINT- outstanding gloss, should have no surface scuffing at all / strong spine with clear, legible print, should be close to perfect
EX outstanding gloss, a few light superficial surface scuffs, should play great with crisp, clear analog sound and the possibility of a little light background noise familiar to vinyl lovers most likely during the dead wax spots between tracks / strong spine with clear, legible print, may have a little light age wear to the cover or the corners
VG+ superb gloss, some light superficial surface scuffing, should play great with crisp, clear analog sound and some light occasional background noise possible / strong spine but the print may be compromised somewhat, some light age wear, but no seam splits or writing on the jacket unless noted in the description
VG nice gloss, multiple light superficial surface scuffs, should still play well but with a little more background noise possible, should still be an enjoyable listening experience and I will usually play rate these and make it known on the listing / cover should be functional but may have some seam splits or writing, I will note all splits or writing in the description
GOOD good gloss, numerous scuffs, should play though but will have background noise, I will play rate these to make sure that the record plays through without skips, I will not list a record that skips, there may be a "click" on a few rotations, but I will note these in the description, I usually only list records that are more collectable at this rating / cover should be functional but will have some seam splits or writing, I will note all splits or writing in the description
FAIR I will only list these records if they are highly collectable and will describe each one individually
NOTE: Keep an eye out for some great LPs up for auction in the near future and check my store for more great records.

Title: Chet Baker Sings It Could Happen To You
Label: 1958 Riverside records original deep groove stereo U.S. release RLP 1120
Sleeve: GOOD (front and back look great, top seam is completely split, the spine is split about half way down)
Vinyl: VG+ (I am using a composite grade hear, superb gloss, plays great with a crisp, clean analog sound and tremendous fidelity, the first half of side one plays with nearly light constant background noise that does not overwhelm the music at any point, also there is a spot where there is a light "thump" about 10 revolutions during this part of playback, then about halfway through the side the background noise stops and the record plays really well, side 2 plays great all the way through. I listened to both sides and it is a very enjoyable listening experience even when the background noise is in play, Chets vocals sound wonderful and distinct as does his intermittent trumpet solos, starting half way through the first side and all the way through the second side is pure pleasure, all records cleaned with my VPI record cleaner)
NOTE: I have just purchased two nice jazz collections with some top shelf listing's coming, one of the collections former owners used tape to catalog his listings, and also would use shipping tape to occasionally "fix" splits seams, this collection is obvious in the listings and I will note any "fixing" on each individual listing, thanks, Steve.
