On offer here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Chicago called 'Chicago Transit Authority' and is a 1969 UK 1st pressing on the 1st Press CBS label!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY HARD TO FIND AS A GENIUNE 'EARLIEST' 1969 1ST PRESSING!!!!  THIS LP WAS PRESSED MANY TIMES ON THE ORANGE CBS LABEL WELL INTO THE 1970s AND MOST SALES TOOK PLACE AFTER CHICAGO BECAME MORE WELL KNOWN.  HOWEVER THIS DOUBLE LP IS A 100% GENIUNE 1969 EARLIEST POSSIBLE 1ST PRESSING WITH MANY VERY IMPORTANT DIFFERENCES TO ALL LATER PRESSINGS!!!! THIS LP WAS ONLY PRESSED FOR A TINY AMOUNT OF TIME AS A GENIUNE 1ST PRESSING AND IT IS INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND!!!!  I WILL EXPLAIN:-  FIRSTLY THE MATRIXES ARE DIFFERENT ON THE RUN OFF GROOVES OF EACH RECORD.  ON THIS 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING THE MATRIXES ON EACH RECORD ARE COMPLETE AND EACH BEGIN WITH 'SBPG' - WHEREAS ALL LATER PRESSINGS ONLY BEGIN WITH 'S'.  THE MATRIXES ON THIS 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING ALSO END IN A1/B1/C1/D1 (THE VERY EARLIEST).  THE COVER IS ALSO VERY DIFFERENT TOO.  ON THIS 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING THE COVER IS MADE BY 'E.J.DAY' (LATER COVERS ARENT), AND THE COVER IS GLOSSY (LATER COVERS ARE 'MATT').  NOT ONLY THAT BUT THE LABELS ARE DIFFERENT TOO.  ON THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESSINGS THE SIDES OF EACH RECORD ARE NUMBERED 'SIDE 1 & SIDE 2' ON EACH RECORD.  THIS HOWEVER PROVED TOO CONFUSING FOR BUYERS AND ON ALL LATER PRESSINGS THIS WAS QUICKLY CORRECTED AND THE LABELS WERE CHANGED WITH EACH SIDE BEING NUMBERED 1,2,3 & 4.  HOWEVER THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO IDENTIFY A 'TRUE' EARLIEST 1ST PRESSING ARE THE 2 STICKERS ON THE COVER.  THE FIRST STICKER IS ON THE REVERSE AND IT IS A CBS 'GOLD' STEREO STICKER.  ALTHOUGH MONOS HAD BEEN DISCONTINUED AT THIS POINT - THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESSINGS STILL HAD 'GOLD' STEREO STICKERS ON THE REVERSE.  THERE IS ALSO A PRICE STICKER ON THE FRONT OF THE COVER WHICH IS UNIQUE TO ONLY THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP.  THIS STICKER IS 100% GUARANTEED ORIGINAL AND HAS CLEARLY NEVER BEEN TOUCHED OR 'PICKED'.  THIS STICKER IS VERY DISTINCTIVE AND SAYS '43'9d - THIS LABEL IS REMOVABLE' AND IS UNIQUE TO EARLIEST 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP (PROBABLY AS A PRICE OFFER TO GIVE AN INCENTIVE TO BUYERS).  AND THE LAST DIFFERENCE TO ALL LATER PRESSINGS IS THE INNER SLEEVES.  THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESSINGS ONLY  CAME WITH PLAIN WHITE 'DIE CUT' INNERS WITH 'PATENTS APPLIED FOR' TEXT (LATER ONES DIDNT).  NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN STUNNING CONDITION AND IS ONE OF THE BEST CONDITIONED 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP I HAVE SEEN!!!!  THIS IS THE 1969 UK 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS CBS LABELS, 1ST PRESS 'PATENTS APPLIED FOR' INNER SLEEVES, AND 1ST PRESS 'E.J.DAY' GATEFOLD 'STICKERED' GATEFOLD COVER!!!!  THIS LP IS IS MASSIVELY RARE IN THIS CONDITION, AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE AS A 'TRUE' EARLIEST 1ST PRESSING - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is an ORIGINAL CBS UK 1st Pressing from 1969 and is in STUNNING condition!!!! The records are pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is CBS 66221 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press CBS labels (see pictures) and is a UK Stereo 1st pressing!!!! All the tracks are pure quality Chicago at their best!!!!  Any fan of Chicago, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!

The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a VERY few light spindle marks!!!! IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THESE RECORDS HAVENT BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!! The vinyl is in STUNNING condition!!!! Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and ALL sides have NO scratches, NO hairlines, and only some light paper scuffing only visible under light!!!!  ALL sides must grade Excellent (Minus) if not better!!!! ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!  THE RECORDS STILL RETAIN THEIR ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!! It is great to find that the records play as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, NO hiss and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!!  There is NO groovewear either and NO distortion. The records overall must grade Excellent (Minus) if not better!!!!  Believe me these records are NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!!  I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The records also come in their ORIGINAL Die Cut 'Patents Applied For' inner sleeves!!!!  The 1st Press 'E.J.Day' Gatefold 'stickered' Cover is in STUNNING condition!!!! It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, NO ringwear, virtually ZERO rubbing (MEGA rare on this cover), only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour), only a VERY few light creases (Cover is VERY flat looking), and NO writing!!!! The opening edges are beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the unlaminated inside is in AWESOME condition with NO grubbyness, NO writing, and NO yellowing!!!!  The only other thing to mention is that one side of the Gatefold is slightly higher than the other - though this is 100% GUARANTEED from manufacture and certainly cannot be considered as a defect!!!! In fact I doubt whether most would even mention it!!!! The cover must grade FULL Excellent if not better and it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to find this cover in this condition!!!! THIS LP IS EXTREMELY RARE AND IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A 'TRUE' EARLIEST 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LP - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
