Description
This is an auction for a rare LP by Chicken Shack, 40 Blue Fingers Freshly Packed & Ready To Serve.
This was released by Blue Horizon Records in 1968 and has catalogue number 7-63203.
Matrix Numbers- 7 63203 A1 7 63203 B1
Condition: The sleeve comes in fine condition with only a touch of fading to parts on the rear, there is also a very slight impression of the record showing on the front with perhaps 3 or 4 tiny lamination creases by the edges. Spine, corners, edges all ex, no tears, bends or creases, mouth superb with no fingering indentations or lamination peeling. A fine sleeve and graded at a very conservative VG+.
This comes with its original patent inner sleeve that has a little yellowing (no tears).
Labels: Both labels are clean, under closer examination some spider spindle trails can be seen on each side, the centre hole shows littel signs of wear.
Vinyl- both sides retain there near new shine, when held under a strong light a few feather scratches can be seen, which are completely non-audible and one visible scratch can be seen on the last two tracks of side 1. I have play tested this record and a tick can be heard for perhaps 4 rotations of the 2nd to last track and again right at the very end of the record perhaps the last 40 seconds.
Other than what is stated above this plays superbly well, quiet breaks and entries between tracks, the music itself plays strong and clear with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever. This has not been overplayed so there is very little, if any, lessening in sound quality through wear.
This one is graded at VG, down-graded for the one audible scratch and because it has been played more than a few times.
Certainly better than a gap filler with the scratch thankfully being at the very end of side one. Still holds great sound quality and plays at near mint for nearly all of this record. Perhaps not for the purist!
