Description
Chicken Shack: "Imagination Lady" 1971, UK/Deram SDL 5. Disc is in nice EX to M- shape with just a few little hairlines, plays M-. Gatefold cover has a name written on the back side and a big top center seam split, it gets a Good grade. Has the poly-lined Company inner sleeve it was issued with. The best Chicken Shack LP by a mile, absolutely blistering heavy guitar action from Stan Webb in a power trio format. Sounds like he was trying to emulate Jimi Hendrix' lead guitar style on "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" on a couple of tracks, and "The Loser" sounds like the greatest Humble Pie riff rock track ever. This may be their rarest as a UK press, only two catalogue numbers away from Mellow Candle. But that question still remains unanswered... why is there a painting of Ray Davies on the cover?
